Army on Track With Tank Sensors

IBM just announced that they completed a pilot with the U.S. Army for monitoring wireless sensors on tanks and other military vehicles. The pilot aims to keep personnel safer by allowing remote diagnosis of vehicle issues. It can also monitor things like fuel and ammunition and automatically alert personnel when supplies are low. The pilot took a year and a half and cost $3.4 Million dollars.

IBM said it would invest a quart of a billion dollars in a year and a half to grow its sensor business.
